The fence has been re-painted, 135 nominations have been recieved, the quality country food is ready to be cooked, the bars are loaded, the track is prepped and the weather forecast is perfect. What more could you ask for, for the opening night of the season!
With ten classes on the program (including 360 and 410 Sprintcars who will be practicing), and a $2,000 to Win Demo Derby to finish the program, it is shaping up to be one hell of a night at Murray Machining & Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway tomorrow night.
The grand parade will begin at 5pm, followed by a thirty-six (36) event program. Speedcars, Wingless Sprints, Super Sedans, Junior Sedans, Street Stocks, Formula 500′s, AMCA Nationals and Lightning Sprints will compete for their first points of the season, while 18 Sprintcars will dial themselves in for three hot lap sessions.
“We have been surprised by the number of cars we had nominate,” said Track Manager Tim McAvaney.
“But it is a great problem to have. Numbers are generally up across most classes which means we are in for another great year.”
For those fans who can make it to Murray Bridge earlier in the day, don’t miss the static display on the main street from 11am to 2pm. This will be followed by four cars driving across the bridge under their own power with police escort to the speedway!
The best photo of the bridge crossing that is loaded on our facebook page will receive a double pass to the Bill Wigzell Battle of the Bridge – so get your cameras out and wave them as the roll on by at 2pm.
OCT 4 – OPENING NIGHT – DEMO DERBY Speedcars, Super Sedans, F500′s, Wingless Sprints, Lightning Sprints, Street Stocks, AMCA Nationals, Junior Sedans plus Demo Derby & Sprintcar practice.
