Bert Fenton Remembered Tonight & Ongoing With New Bert Fenton Rookie Of The Year Award!
Bert 'Scooter' Fenton was a stalwart of the South Australian Speedcar Association for decades and introduced a number of competitors to Midget competition through the use of his race equipment including Ryan Jones, Mark Harrington, John McKay, Matt Egel and more! Sadly Bert passed while living the dream watching Midget racing in America in 2014.
To recognise this tremendous effort by Fenton bringing new talent into the Speedcar ranks over the years; the SA Speedcar Association has also agreed to name the club's annual rookie trophy as the Bert Fenton Rookie of the Year Award, ensuring Bert's name remains in the history books!
The originally scheduled 2-night event was forced to be rescheduled after a calendar shuffle by Murray Bridge Speedway. Thankfully Speedway City Promoter Wendy Turner took up the event with tonight's 2 x 8 heats and 20 lap A-Main format!
Trophies for our 3 victors have generously been supplied by Bert's family and will be presented on the infield after the A-Main.
