Bishop Bounces Back from Dimboola Drama!

Victorian Harley Bishop turned a drama filled start to the Easter Speedcar Double Header into a victorious weekend claiming the Speedcar Stampede at Speedway City last night from Ben Hall and Mark Harrington; as well as taking the overall Easter series thanks to The Mt Barker Courier, The Speedway Shop, Loanave & JDS Motorsport!

Experiencing tow car issues onroute to SA on Friday, the Victorian Jaxxon Wrapz team were potentially stuck in the town of Dimboola, Victoria with no way of making the SA Title on Saturday night. But fellow holiday makers from Ballarat came to their rescue, devitating from their own holidays to tow the team to Murray Bridge for the SA Title! This awesome group of over a dozen honourary crew members came to the event to cheer the Victorian 360 Sprintcar star to 3rd in the title before heading back to Victoria!

Bishop added to this podium by qualifying from pole position for round 2 of the Easter series; TheSpeedwayShop.com Speedcar Stampede at Speedway City! On the drop of the green flag, Bishop lost the lead to local SA racer Mark Harrington out of position 2 and fought a hard battle over half a dozen laps before Harrington ran high allowing Bishop to take the lead.

Ben Hall slipped into 2nd place a few laps later and sought to chase down Bishop but was unable to reign him in, seeing Bishop take TheSpeedwayShop.com Speedcar Stampede from Hall, Harrington and Nathan Squiers with Jamie Crouch rounding out the top five placings. Heat wins were taken by Bishop and Harrington.

An earlier incident saw local Lee Dillon take a wild ride up into the catchfence mid turns 3 and 4 in the Trevor Knuckey Racing SA11, which collected Friday night's SA Title winner Anthony Chaffey of QLD in the wake of the tumble. While both competitors were unhurt, car damage saw them retire from the remainder of the event.
